I love writing historical fiction. There’s really nothing quite like it. You have a plot, a real gem. And you just need one piece of historical evidence — information to help you set the scene, the backstory. So you research. For hours. Days. Weeks. Then finally, you find it. The story! The facts that justify your characters’ actions. The news article that provides just the right amount of information — the weather, street names, the most popular restaurant in town… 90 years ago. You now have what it takes to make your story believable. The feeling is indescribable.
It’s magical. And you have to wonder if someone or something is guiding you. They’ve been waiting for someone to tell their story.
